I am here!
Well as you can see I have hardly had ANY blog posts this month. First of all, not that much has happened and second of all, I forgot my log in password!! It just occurred to me out of no where, so I decided to log in and write a post.
I have been in a course for bookkeeping this past few weeks and it's been pretty good. At first it was hard for me to be back in a classroom environment but I am enjoying learning. One thing I have learned is that organization is still not my strong point.
This past Friday I had a computer class for Quickbooks {the accounting software we use for Ryan's company}. I was running really behind for class in the morning so grabbed a hoodie that was on my bedroom floor {I know....clothes on my floor..shame on me}. I didn't think much of it and rushed off to class. Only after taking the last desk that was being hit with a stream of sunlight through the window, did I realize that my white cat had been sitting on it probably most of the night. My black hoodie was COVERED in white cat hair. No worries I thought, I will run out at lunch and pick up a new top.
So at lunch I rushed off to Chinook Mall and grabbed a sleeveless top and a matching cardigan from Old Navy. I didn't try them on but I only had half an hour so no time to spare! On the drive back to school I decided I would not be able to last the afternoon without food and stopped at McDonald's drive through. Perfect place to change!! I was rushing to get my new shirt on before anyone saw and guess what? It was too small.....meaning I was squished into this top while only half covered. Luckily I manged to get back on my other top before I got to the drive through window and decided just to wear my new cardigan that fit over my existing tank top. Phew! Problem solved. Well it would have been but as I was running so behind, I decided to eat my cheeseburger on the drive back. Nothing is never easy with me and I end up dropping ketchup ALL DOWN my new cardigan. So by the time I got back nothing had changed. I was now just wearing a shirt covered in ketchup instead of cat hair. Well done ;)
Not much else is new, I am trying to convince Ryan to drive to Edmonton this upcoming weekend to see the Princess Diana exhibit. Also, my phone was run over this weekend! Ryan found it on the steet outside our house. It must of fell out of my lap when I got home one day and subsequently run over by a neighbour. Oh well, it happens! xxx

Easter
This year we spent Easter in BC with Ryan's family. What was exciting is that my day home officially closed the Thursday before Good Friday, so I felt completely free of responsibility!!
We drove out on Friday and came home on Sunday, so although it was short, it was still fun. Of course there was lots of food! On Saturday night, I actually had to leave mid dinner and change from jeans into yoga pants! haha. That is honestly what happens when you are offered plate after plate of good food!
As for the last day of day home, my parting gift from my last child was a $200 gift card to the spa Evelyn Charles. So I am very excited to book something lovely in the future. For now, I have to focus on working on paperwork for Ryan's company and I start school this week for book keeping! It will be really strange to begin school again as I haven't attended proper school since I graduated high school in 2004!!
Well talking of work, I had better get back to it. Hope that everyone had a great Easter! xxx

Hola
Hi all,
two weeks have passed way too quickly and I just realized not once within that time frame have I blogged! Naughty Amy! So now I am sitting down to type and can hardly remember what we have even done. Sigh.
I did get my hair done last week! It has pretty much been a disaster since I box died over top of the professional colour I got done for the wedding back in August. As soon as I put on the die.....it poofed up into what is now referred to as 'the fuzz'. I have had it trimmed three times since, paid for two deep conditions and FINALLY last week, I was able to get a new colour. For the last six months no hairdresser has dared to touch it in fear of damaging it further. So it can't yet shed the name of 'the fuzz' but its getting better.
We also have seen a couple of movies. Oz in 3D was amazing!!! I felt so excited while watching it, a true adventure. That is one of the movies that I wont mind my future children playing over and over again. It's very enjoyable!
Well I have to go and do some very important tasks {shopping}, so I will blog more this weekend. Bye xxx

Lucky seven
I just realized that today we have been married for seven months. SEVEN MONTHS already, where does the time go? It also just so happened that I found the pictures from when my sissy and I discovered my wedding dress. It was so exciting {partly because my time frame was a little slim....I happen to leave everything last minute} but I also really loved it. I just knew the second we spotted it that it really was the perfect dress for me.
I sometimes wish that it was acceptable to wear wedding dresses to the grocery store, movie theater and fast food restaurants. It seems a shame that such a lovely thing hangs in a bag in my closet. The dress did make an appearance the other day when I decided to have a quick peek at it. All too quickly, however, my cats descended upon it {leaving a couple claw marks i'm sure}. So back into the bag it went......maybe until I find a way to put it to better use :) xxx

This was the day we found this little beauty and below is six months later on the big day!
Babies and Chaos
I was strolling through my old laptop this afternoon looking for some documents. While doing so, I stumbled across this video of the dayhome in full swing with all five of my little monkeys. My dayhome is down to its last babe and will be closing March 28th. So I thought this video would be good to remind me of the chaos that once lived in my house. I sometimes wonder if I will miss actively running my dayhome but I think my nice clean and quiet house will come as some consolation. xxx

Silver Linings Playbook
I am officially in love with this movie. We went to go see it last night because of all the Oscar buzz surrounding it {plus the fact it was cheap Tuesday!}. Well, what can I say? It was excellent!
The characters are so relatable and funny. I love the family dynamic between Bradley Cooper and his on screen parents. I love his chemistry with Jennifer Lawrence and I love how he focuses so hard on bettering himself.
There is no huge climax or dramatic ending, just a good solid move with a great overall message.

A series of unfortunate events
I have been having trouble falling asleep lately. I'm not sure why but its so frustrating laying there for hours before finally dosing off. Last night I had the brilliant idea that drinking a glass of wine before bed might just do the trick of making me drowsy WRONG. A large glass of wine at 11:00 pm does the exact opposite of making you tired. I was instead awake and finding everything funny. This included but was not limited to trying to have conversations with Ryan while he was dreaming. Holding his nose closed to see how long it would be until he was gasping for air. Tickling his arm to make it feel as if a spider was crawling up it....yes, I am cruel. The funny thing was that he didn't fully wake up through all of my torture {and subsequent laughing of the results}.
So after an hour of this, I got bored and decided to give up and attempt sleep again. Sleep did not come and it got me thinking of the silly things that have happened over the last few days. Nothing too substantial but silly enough to get me laughing again. It started the other day when I took the dayhome children to a movie. Little did I know that the twins I look after had never seen a movie before. They were shell shocked to say the least. When we arrived the adverts had already started so it was dark. The theater was full so I told all the kids to shuffle down to the front row. We sat down and I realized that I was missing a twin. Looking back I see a little girl collapsed at the top of the steps. Startling you ask? Not at all. This is what I call "Baby Roadkill". It just so happens that when the twins face adverse situations they collapse and play dead. No joke. This always happens when someone knocks at my door that they don't know. I have the Jehovah Witnesses in front of me and two baby's playing dead on the floor behind me. It sounds silly but it's really their way of coping. They just lay there until the "threat" is gone. So needless to say, I went and collected the unresponsive toddler with a few weird glances from other theater goers.
Once the movie had finished everyone got up at once. While getting on the kids jackets I realized the other twin was no where to be seen. Wonderful. So I ushered the other half ready kids out the theater to find him tailing another family towards the exit. It did make me laugh because he was just so overwhelmed. Obviously he thought everyone was leaving and herded out with the family beside us.
The next unfortunate event happened when Ryan and I took the kids to Ihop the other morning. It was only the twins that day and Ryan had been surprised with a day of no work due to finishing his other job early and not being able to fill the day with anything else. He suggested we go and have a nice breakfast. We ordered and as we were eating, I realized that little M was storing food in her mouth. As a side note, they are very messy eaters and tend to dissect their food, put it in every nook of their body {toes specifically}, into pocket's of their clothing, rub it in their hair....you get the idea. So needless to day, Ryan wasn't exactly appetized watching them eat LOL. All of a sudden, little M started choking on all the food stored in her cheeks. My instinct is that similar of a mother I suppose and I put my hand up to her mouth only to have her throw up whatever breakfast she had managed to stomach. It was fun, people were looking and Ryan officially could not eat any more food. Not going back there any time soon.
The last unfortunate event so far this week {if you can imagine this all happening within 7 days} happened last night when we were at a movie. We had decided to get a latte to bring in the movie. I had actually made an effort and dressed up for our evening. I was wearing my beautiful red Laura Ashley coat and had taken time to put on my makeup properly. As we were settling in, I took off my jacket to put on the vacant chair beside me. It was dark so I sort of swung it around and then without realizing caught Ryan's latte. It hit the ground and exploded. Everywhere. Yay for me. It was messy and all over my white Uggs {or formally white I suppose}. As sad as it was, it was also funny and I couldn't help laughing. We moved seats and sort of forgot about it. After the movie we went into Chapters to get Ryan another latte, that is when I caught my reflection. I guess I was rubbing my eyes when laughing and that "oh so carefully" placed makeup was a big black smudge down my left cheek. I looked like a complete fool. So to make myself feel a little better, I did what I do best. Shopped. I ended up buying a new flower pot and a brass mister to help water my orchid. So all was not lost.
Lessons learned this week: Don't use wine as a sleeping aid.
Don't lose the children.
Don't swing heavy jackets around hot beverages.
Don't rub your eyes when you have spent half an hour
applying eye makeup.
Most importantly, don't ever underestimate the power of
retail therapy. xxx

Getting ready
One of my New Years resolutions was to get ready every day first thing in the morning. Simple right? Not really. How my day typically works is that I wake up just before the first baby is dropped off any my house for dayhome {when I say just, I mean about two minutes before....I don't like to waste valuable sleep time!}. This of course means I answer the door looking like I just got out of bed. Pajamas, really messy hair, no makeup....you get the picture. My hope is to have a shower later in the morning but after all the drop offs, breakfast and cleaning up after breakfast, I tend to put it off until nap time. This means that if we go out, I am sporting the ever so impressive 'au natural' look.
Now I am not one who always has to look made up but what bothers me is when I run into people I know looking like a train wreck. The sad thing is that it usually is someone that hasn't seen more for like a dozen years and of course looks perfect. To be polite they say how good I look and I know they are completely lying. I try and brush it off by saying "oh I just ran out of the house today" {which I did but they probably don't believe that}. I'm usually kicking myself thinking why didn't I put on that lovely new guess top I just bought? Then I start to worry that if I don't see them again for another dozen years this current image of me will be what pops into their head whenever they think of me. Then I make a note in my mind of the time and the place and go back there every week all made up, trying to bump into them. Well ok I am lying about the last bit but you get the picture.
So I am writing this to remind myself that I have to find a good balance between these two Amy's:
Also this is a warning that if you see the back of my head disappearing behind a stand of soup cans at the grocery store, ignore me. That is obviously a day I decided not to follow my resolution ;) xxx
