Happenings lately
Hello followers {Mum, Mother-in-law and Sister's LOL},
juuust kidding. I am sure there are more out there.....well I hope so :) Anyways, I just wanted to update since my last post. What has happened?
Well first of all my surgery for a cerclage went well. I had it two weeks ago this Thursday and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I had read all the worst case scenarios and had nightmares about what would happen {I am a very dramatic person so worst case scenario is of course what I expected}. Really, the only thing I found nerve racking was the spinal for the anesthetic. Even that turned out to be less painful then what I thought it would be. My Mum said try to imagine the cute little baby you are doing this for and it will be better. No joke, that's exactly what I did! As they were poking the needles into my back I thought of a sweet little baby boy running around and it made me feel better. Not that I know it's a boy. We wont find out for a couple more weeks yet but I think it might be, so that is what was in my mind.
Just before I went in for surgery, my sweet little fur baby Enzo started limping and only walking on three legs. Now call me evil but I decided to hold off taking him to the vet and hoped it would heal up. Well the poor little boy developed an infection in his paw due to a bite wound and had to go to the vets anyways. It was so sad but so cute because when we got there, it was a waiting room full of doggy's. He was so scared he kept hiding his little face in Ryan's arm and just hoping it would all disappear. I had to laugh because all the men in the waiting room had these big, cool looking dogs and Ryan was holding this timid little cat. Very manly. Once Enzo was tended to, he had to be coned as the paw healed which was as equally funny as it was sad. For some reason, cats lose all spacial awareness when they have a cone around their head. So a mixture of pain meds and a cone turned him into a drunk staggering cat. He fell down the stairs twice and also would get all crazy after we gave him his nightly pain meds. After his crazy hour he would fall asleep in my arms so heavily, we had trouble waking him up when it was time to go upstairs to bed. Either way, he is all better now and we are pleased he didn't lose his paw {again worst case scenario drama Ryan had to listen to from me}. :)
Last big thing that happened this week is that we bought a house! It is a semi-detached house and my twin sister purchased the other side! How coolio is that? I am really excited to FINALLY be out of the rental market and to share this fun home building business with not only Ryan but Carly too! This is a picture of the show home our house will look like.
We are on the right and my sis is on the left. We are even thinking of leaving our back gardens open to each other to have a large area for future babies to run around in. PLUS think how easy babysitting will be! Our baby can just waddle over to Carly's and Nate's place as soon as it can walk.
So as you can see lots of fun things are happening!!!! Will keep you updated as we get further along with baby and OF COURSE let everyone know if it will be a little Amy or a little Ryan. xxx

A little peanut!
So I can FINALLY talk about our exciting news.......we are expecting a baby!! I am almost 13 weeks along and due November 16th. I have an OBGYN taking extra care of me this time around and have surgery {a cerclage} booked in a couple of weeks at the Rocky View. This will just help reinforce the cervix and prevent early labour.
We had a scan yesterday and the baby is very healthy and active. S/he was jumping all over the place as we were trying to get a proper look at it. Here are some shots from yesterday. xxx

The new Kit Kat
This little cutie is officially mine! His name is Smithy and I used to be his Aunty {he was my sissy's cat}. A couple of weeks ago my sis decided that she couldn't keep him and I was upgraded to his Mum {Don't judge....even cats need a Mother!}. Basically he is too crazy for my sisters other cats so had to be re-homed We already really liked him so were happy to have him. His new nick name is Orange Peel {although my sister likes to call him the Orange Devil} and he is FULL of personality. Have a look!
We also recently celebrated my brother and brother-in-laws Birthdays. They chose to go to Speeders which is an indoor race track for European go-carts. I didn't get to participate but it meant I was able to get some pictures! xxx

Passenger
Loving this song right now. They are a band out of England and the main singers voice reminds me of a mix of James Blunt and Ed Sherran. Have a listen, it's awesome! xxx

I am here!
Well as you can see I have hardly had ANY blog posts this month. First of all, not that much has happened and second of all, I forgot my log in password!! It just occurred to me out of no where, so I decided to log in and write a post.
I have been in a course for bookkeeping this past few weeks and it's been pretty good. At first it was hard for me to be back in a classroom environment but I am enjoying learning. One thing I have learned is that organization is still not my strong point.
This past Friday I had a computer class for Quickbooks {the accounting software we use for Ryan's company}. I was running really behind for class in the morning so grabbed a hoodie that was on my bedroom floor {I know....clothes on my floor..shame on me}. I didn't think much of it and rushed off to class. Only after taking the last desk that was being hit with a stream of sunlight through the window, did I realize that my white cat had been sitting on it probably most of the night. My black hoodie was COVERED in white cat hair. No worries I thought, I will run out at lunch and pick up a new top.
So at lunch I rushed off to Chinook Mall and grabbed a sleeveless top and a matching cardigan from Old Navy. I didn't try them on but I only had half an hour so no time to spare! On the drive back to school I decided I would not be able to last the afternoon without food and stopped at McDonald's drive through. Perfect place to change!! I was rushing to get my new shirt on before anyone saw and guess what? It was too small.....meaning I was squished into this top while only half covered. Luckily I manged to get back on my other top before I got to the drive through window and decided just to wear my new cardigan that fit over my existing tank top. Phew! Problem solved. Well it would have been but as I was running so behind, I decided to eat my cheeseburger on the drive back. Nothing is never easy with me and I end up dropping ketchup ALL DOWN my new cardigan. So by the time I got back nothing had changed. I was now just wearing a shirt covered in ketchup instead of cat hair. Well done ;)
Not much else is new, I am trying to convince Ryan to drive to Edmonton this upcoming weekend to see the Princess Diana exhibit. Also, my phone was run over this weekend! Ryan found it on the steet outside our house. It must of fell out of my lap when I got home one day and subsequently run over by a neighbour. Oh well, it happens! xxx

Easter
This year we spent Easter in BC with Ryan's family. What was exciting is that my day home officially closed the Thursday before Good Friday, so I felt completely free of responsibility!!
We drove out on Friday and came home on Sunday, so although it was short, it was still fun. Of course there was lots of food! On Saturday night, I actually had to leave mid dinner and change from jeans into yoga pants! haha. That is honestly what happens when you are offered plate after plate of good food!
As for the last day of day home, my parting gift from my last child was a $200 gift card to the spa Evelyn Charles. So I am very excited to book something lovely in the future. For now, I have to focus on working on paperwork for Ryan's company and I start school this week for book keeping! It will be really strange to begin school again as I haven't attended proper school since I graduated high school in 2004!!
Well talking of work, I had better get back to it. Hope that everyone had a great Easter! xxx

Hola
Hi all,
two weeks have passed way too quickly and I just realized not once within that time frame have I blogged! Naughty Amy! So now I am sitting down to type and can hardly remember what we have even done. Sigh.
I did get my hair done last week! It has pretty much been a disaster since I box died over top of the professional colour I got done for the wedding back in August. As soon as I put on the die.....it poofed up into what is now referred to as 'the fuzz'. I have had it trimmed three times since, paid for two deep conditions and FINALLY last week, I was able to get a new colour. For the last six months no hairdresser has dared to touch it in fear of damaging it further. So it can't yet shed the name of 'the fuzz' but its getting better.
We also have seen a couple of movies. Oz in 3D was amazing!!! I felt so excited while watching it, a true adventure. That is one of the movies that I wont mind my future children playing over and over again. It's very enjoyable!
Well I have to go and do some very important tasks {shopping}, so I will blog more this weekend. Bye xxx

Lucky seven
I just realized that today we have been married for seven months. SEVEN MONTHS already, where does the time go? It also just so happened that I found the pictures from when my sissy and I discovered my wedding dress. It was so exciting {partly because my time frame was a little slim....I happen to leave everything last minute} but I also really loved it. I just knew the second we spotted it that it really was the perfect dress for me.
I sometimes wish that it was acceptable to wear wedding dresses to the grocery store, movie theater and fast food restaurants. It seems a shame that such a lovely thing hangs in a bag in my closet. The dress did make an appearance the other day when I decided to have a quick peek at it. All too quickly, however, my cats descended upon it {leaving a couple claw marks i'm sure}. So back into the bag it went......maybe until I find a way to put it to better use :) xxx

This was the day we found this little beauty and below is six months later on the big day!
Babies and Chaos
I was strolling through my old laptop this afternoon looking for some documents. While doing so, I stumbled across this video of the dayhome in full swing with all five of my little monkeys. My dayhome is down to its last babe and will be closing March 28th. So I thought this video would be good to remind me of the chaos that once lived in my house. I sometimes wonder if I will miss actively running my dayhome but I think my nice clean and quiet house will come as some consolation. xxx
